Gol will operate direct flights between Asunción and Florianópolis during the 2027 summer season. The route will run from January 5 to February 14, with two weekly frequencies on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The flights will operate nonstop on Boeing 737 aircraft. In one of the scheduled time slots, the flight will depart Asunción at 2:55 a.m. and arrive in Florianópolis at 5:05 a.m. In the opposite direction, departure from the capital of Santa Catarina is scheduled for 11:50 p.m., with arrival at 2:05 a.m. the following day. There will also be a nighttime service, departing Asunción at 9:45 p.m. and arriving at 11:55 p.m., while the return flight will depart at 6:30 p.m.
According to the airline, the link between the two cities is among the five most in-demand routes between Paraguay and Brazil. The company says passenger numbers could quadruple in January and February, the vacation period and the time of greatest demand for Santa Catarina's beaches.
International traffic helps explain the seasonal decision. Between December 2025 and March 2026, 191,477 Paraguayans declared Brazil as their destination for reasons including tourism, work and study. The figure was released by the National Migration Directorate in April.
For passengers, the route reduces travel time by eliminating connections and provides direct access to Florianópolis and other destinations along the coast of Santa Catarina. According to the airline, the new service is also expected to support the arrival of Brazilian tourists in Asunción.
The impact will be concentrated during the busiest period at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Luque, in the Asunción metropolitan area. In the first weeks of January, the terminal records more than 32,000 outbound movements, according to information released about the service.
The route is part of Gol's expansion in the Paraguayan market. The company also recently adjusted frequencies between Asunción and Rio de Janeiro, expanding connection options to New York and other cities across the continent.
