On Wednesday afternoon, around 3 p.m., residents of the Virgen de los Remedios neighborhood in San Lorenzo found a body in an advanced state of decomposition inside an abandoned house on Avenida Los Tucanos.
Commissioner Benito López of the Calle’i Sub-station said that Criminalistics teams are already at the scene and that the prosecutor and forensic doctor are expected to arrive. According to the officer, the body appears to have been in the property for five or six days. López said he recently took over the area and checked for missing persons reports but found no matching case.
A neighbor reported that residents had noticed a strong odor for days but believed it was a dead animal, such as a dog or cat. Other neighbors, who were looking for their cat, entered the residence and discovered the body.
The victim's identity has not yet been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
