The Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), together with the Paraguay-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and the Paraguayan Maquiladora Companies Chamber (CEMAP), officially presented the 10th edition of Expo Maquila and Plaza Mipymes. These platforms are part of the schedule for Paraguay Business Week 2026, which will take place from November 11 to 13 in Hernandarias, Alto Paraná.
The event, whose motto is "Let's do business together," aims to generate business opportunities worth $1 billion during the three days of activities. The figure considers the business rounds and the economic activity generated by the various exhibition spaces.
This edition will have "Technology, Innovation and Industry 4.0" as its central theme, with more space and infrastructure to accommodate the growth recorded in 2025. In addition to the Expo Paraguay-Brazil, the event incorporates the Alto Paraná Invest Forum 2026, a space dedicated to presenting public, private, and public-private partnership investment projects, facilitating meetings between investors and developers.
The choice of Alto Paraná as the venue is due to the department's weight in the national productive ecosystem. The region concentrates about 45% of the country's maquiladora industry and more than 60,000 registered companies, consolidating itself as one of Paraguay's main industrial and commercial hubs.
The Vice Minister of the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX), Eduardo Gustale, explained that moving the event to the interior reflects the decision to boost industrialization and economic development in different regions. He noted that the previous edition, held in Alto Paraná, jumped from approximately 2,500 participants in Asunción to about 9,000.
The public-private alliance seeks to expand the event's reach, connect the Paraguayan business sector with international markets, and position the country as an attractive destination for setting up industries and developing new projects.
