Paraguayan Oliver Cuevas, 14, won again in Brazil. Last weekend, he claimed Race 1 of the second round of the Ohvale Trophy at the Limeira circuit in the interior of São Paulo, and finished second in Race 2, securing a double podium. The event was marked by an intense storm, with heavy rain and winds that made riding difficult.
Cuevas, who competes in the Moto Mini category — considered a MotoGP feeder series — started from pole position after setting the fastest lap in qualifying. In the first race, he delivered an impeccable performance and crossed the finish line first. In the second race, with the track even wetter, the young rider faced additional difficulties but managed to take second place. With these results, he remains at the top of the championship standings.
“Oli’s first big goal was to stay on the bike. With the heavy rain and wind gusts, that was an almost impossible mission for the young riders,” highlighted the Superbike Paraguay team, of which Cuevas is a member. The Paraguayan’s performance was closely watched by international scouts.
The next round of the Ohvale Trophy has yet to be confirmed, but the Superbike Paraguay calendar remains busy. Between May 22 and 24, riders Pedro Valiente, Hassen David, and Fabri Almirón will compete in the second round of the Moto 1000GP and Yamaha bLU cRU, which will be held simultaneously at the Goiânia circuit, also in Brazil.
