Paraguay carried out its first shipment of pork to the Philippines on Thursday, a milestone for the sector as it seeks to consolidate international markets. The shipment, confirmed by the country's National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa), contains 27 tons of baby back ribs.
The opening of the Philippine market is the result of negotiations and technical audits and is part of a strategy to establish the country as a reliable supplier of animal protein. The projection is to send one container per month to the Asian destination.
Paraguayan pork exports have already surpassed 8.7 million kilograms in 2026, generating revenue of $25.5 million. Public and private sector stakeholders are celebrating the market diversification and the sustained growth of the segment.
