Paraguay's beef exports showed a significant recovery in July 2026, following a first half of the year with lower volumes. Data from the National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa) show the month was the best of the year so far, with 30,224,900 kilograms shipped, generating revenue of $223 million.
This performance surpassed that of June, when 26,023,992 kilograms were exported for $191 million, indicating a positive trend at the start of the second half of the year. However, the cumulative total from January to July 2026 still shows a 24.6% drop in volume compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 162,606 metric tons.
Despite the reduction in quantity, the total export value fell by only 9%. This occurred due to a substantial appreciation of the product on the international market. The average price per kilogram rose from $5.73 in 2025 to $6.92 in 2026, an increase of more than 20% that represents the highest price in the last five years.
Chile remained the main destination, having purchased 50,162,246 kilograms in the period, equivalent to approximately $352 million. Israel appeared in second place, with purchases of 26,033,348 kilograms ($212 million), followed by the United States, with 30,097,454 kilograms ($176 million). Taiwan and Brazil round out the list of the five largest buyers.
In parallel, Senacsa reported that exports of beef offal (by-products) totaled 28,714,473 kilograms in the first seven months of the year, generating $61 million in foreign exchange.
