Paraguay's National Directorate of Migration (DNM) carried out 2,425 security operations at borders and airports during the first half of 2026, resulting in over 1,300 cases of individuals being prevented from leaving the country. The actions were part of an effort to strengthen security at border access points.

Among the identified cases were document fraud, attempts to leave the country irregularly, and foreigners who did not meet the legal entry requirements. A total of 1,338 exit denials were recorded, primarily due to a lack of travel documentation, absence of authorizations for minors, and court orders.

The report also notes 867 inadmissions of foreigners for failing to meet legal entry conditions, in addition to 122 expulsions under Migration Law No. 6984/22. There were also 73 handover procedures and 25 extraditions coordinated with national and international bodies.

A notable case was that of an Afghan citizen who attempted to enter Paraguay using a Canadian passport belonging to another person. Individuals wanted by international justice were also identified, including a Peruvian with an Interpol Red Notice for suspected international drug trafficking.

Venezuela leads the list of inadmissions with 299 cases, followed by Brazil (201) and Argentina (149). During international sporting events, fans were barred for failing to comply with established rules, such as 25 Argentines at the Puerto Falcón-Clorinda crossing and 11 fans of the Colombian club Junior from Barranquilla.
