The Public Prosecutor's Office of Paraguay has registered 14 victims of femicide in the country as of July 26, 2026, according to data from its Open Data Program. The cases are distributed across 13 open judicial proceedings, including one double murder.
In addition to the completed crimes, 24 attempted femicides were counted, along with three cases of attempted murder of collateral victims—including one child—and six serious assaults committed by former partners.
The Central department accounts for the majority of incidents, with nine victims. Concepción registered two cases, while Asunción, Canindeyú, and Alto Paraná each had one case. January was the most violent month, with six femicides, followed by March, with four.
Eleven crimes occurred inside residences and three in public streets. Edged weapons were used on nine occasions, and firearms on two. The victims were between 12 and 80 years old, and the aggressors between 18 and 80 years old.
The violence left 26 children orphaned, 19 of whom are minors. Ten women were murdered by their partners or ex-partners; other aggressors included a stepfather, a son, and two acquaintances. Four of the perpetrators committed suicide after the crime.
Nine suspects are in the custody of the Paraguayan justice system, and one man with an international arrest warrant was detained in Brazil, where he will face charges for the crime.
