Paraguay will host a regional fintech gathering with Ibero-American reach for the first time. The Fintech Iberoamérica Summit 2026 is scheduled for August 6 at Paseo La Galería in Asunción and will bring together industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and innovative companies from across the region.
The announcement was made by Marcos Sebastián Benítez, a board member of the Cámara Paraguaya de Fintech, who emphasized the scale of the event. "We will be welcoming many industry leaders, not only from the region but also internationally," he said. Confirmed participants will include representatives from global companies such as Amazon, as well as leading firms in digital payments, electronic transfers, and innovative financial solutions.
The goal of the summit is to connect Paraguayan and regional startups with potential investors, generating opportunities for the development of new technology and financial projects. Benítez noted that the fintech ecosystem goes far beyond traditional payment platforms and includes e-wallets, digital financing, investment solutions, technology-based credit, and various tools that are transforming the economy.
The Cámara Paraguaya de Fintech continues to expand the country's financial innovation ecosystem through training programs, academic partnerships, and networking spaces that connect companies, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals. The organization operates through specialized verticals, including digital payments, blockchain, and academic education. "We have partnerships with many universities and we develop diploma programs with the participation of Chamber members, board members, and international professors," Benítez highlighted.
One of the priority areas is developing local talent to keep pace with the growth of the technology and financial industry in Paraguay. The Chamber allows participation from both companies and independent professionals, with different membership categories tailored to the size and profile of each member.
In addition to major events such as the Fintech Iberoamérica Summit, the organization promotes smaller gatherings called "Fintech Talks," aimed at discussing industry trends, regulations, and opportunities. As an example, Benítez cited a recent event held in partnership with the law firm Wowa, in which the scope of the Ley de Pagos Electrónicos and its practical application after one year in force were analyzed. "These are relevant initiatives that are being carried out," he said.
Paraguay was chosen to host this summit due to the growth of its fintech ecosystem and the development of a regulatory framework that supports financial innovation, positioning the country as an emerging hub in the region compared to other Ibero-American markets.
