Paraguay will host the Paraguay Blockchain Summit 2026 on August 7, described by the organizers as the largest event of its kind in the country, with an expected turnout of around 2,000 participants including companies, regulators, investors, developers, representatives of the financial system, and international experts.
The event is part of Paraguay Tech Week and aims to bring together the public and private sectors to discuss the present and future of digital assets, blockchain, and financial innovation in Paraguay and Latin America. According to the organizers, the program goes beyond cryptocurrencies and includes blockchain applications in payments, remittances, asset tokenization, regulatory compliance, digital identity, and financial infrastructure.
Among the central themes are the regulation of digital assets and their coexistence with the traditional financial system, with an analysis of experiences from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, and El Salvador, as well as international regulatory developments. The tokenization of real-world assets through blockchain will also be on the agenda, identified as a potential opportunity for sectors such as real estate and Paraguay's capital markets.
The growth of stablecoins — used for remittances, international payments, and digital economy operations — will be another discussion point, with a focus on potential reductions in transfer costs and greater regional financial integration.
