The Public Prosecutor’s Office presented more than 2,000 encrypted messages from the Sky ECC platform attributed to Sebastián Marset and Miguel Ángel Insfrán, known as “Tío Rico,” at the trial in the A Ultranza Py case. The conversations form part of the evidence against Insfrán and 17 other defendants accused of drug trafficking, money laundering and criminal association.
Among the conversations shown by prosecutor Deny Yoon Pak is a message dated September 14, 2020, in which Marset asks how to “make a body I have disappear.” The transcripts also mention lime and acid. The prosecution treats the content as an element of the case, but the message alone does not prove that a homicide occurred or that the plan was carried out.
The chats focus on the period from 2019 to 2020 and, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, record the coordination of drug shipments between Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Europe. The transcripts also reportedly contain references to possible involvement by agents of the National Police and the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), the Paraguayan institution responsible for combating drug trafficking. That part of the material is expected to be presented at another stage of the trial.
The proceedings are before the Specialized Trial Court for Economic Offenses, Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption, presided over by María Luz Martínez and composed of judges Dina Marchuk and Federico Rojas. Marset is in custody and faces a federal criminal case in the United States, while Insfrán is one of the defendants in the Paraguayan trial.
In a separate development, documents released by U.S. prosecutors record messages exchanged between Marset and Michael Greisen, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), nearly a year before the Uruguayan’s capture in Bolivia. The U.S. prosecution said Greisen initiated contact through WhatsApp on March 26, 2025, said that authorities would continue looking for Marset and offered a negotiated way out.
The response attributed to Marset was defiant: “They will never capture me,” “justice does not exist” and “I am much smarter than the entire DEA put together.” The U.S. prosecution also said the agent was seeking a solution to avoid greater consequences for Marset’s family circle. The Sky ECC messages and the U.S. documents belong to separate proceedings and must be assessed in their respective court files.
