The Vice Ministry of MSMEs, in alliance with the Taiwan Technical Mission and the Medalla Milagrosa Cooperative, formalized the selection of eight micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for the 2026 edition of the Reinventa program. The initiative, carried out through the Fomipymes project of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), offers specialized technical assistance, mentoring, and access to credit lines to boost innovation, competitiveness, and business digitalization.
Vice Minister of MSMEs Gustavo Giménez highlighted that more than a thousand companies applied in the selection process. “More than a thousand went through the process,” he said. He noted that the eight selected showed the greatest potential and that half come from Asunción and the Central region, while the other half are from the interior of the country. “Innovation is not only from the capital, but from all of Paraguay,” he added.
The chosen companies will receive financial follow-up from the Medalla Milagrosa Cooperative and continuous support during a mentoring period of four to six months. After this stage, they will join the MIC service network, with access to training, business connections, and financing opportunities.
Taiwan’s ambassador to Paraguay, Iván Yueh-Jung Lee, expressed pride in supporting the program. “Today we present not only companies, but stories of effort, perseverance, and transformation,” he said, encouraging entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity with courage and discipline.
Lorenzo Barreto Duarte, president of the Medalla Milagrosa Cooperative, detailed that the program coordinates efforts with the MIC and the Taiwan Technical Mission to improve the quality, competitiveness, and positioning of small businesses, offering technological tools, training, and financing alternatives.
