TikToker Jabari Stephan Brown, known as Treezy, testified on Thursday in a pretrial evidence hearing before Organized Crime Judge Rosarito Montanía, in the case involving the executive jet that arrived from the United States carrying 261 kilograms of premium drugs. The co-pilot of the Challenger 604 aircraft, registration N116HL, appeared at the Palace of Justice accompanied by three lawyers.
The hearing included the participation of prosecutor Ingrid Cubilla, lawyer Rafael Fernández—defense attorney for the three charged U.S. citizens Marisol Rivas, Troy Anthony Vásquez, and David Thomas Wise—interpreter Silvia Torres, and forensic doctor Rosalino Pinto. The testimony was admitted as pretrial evidence to be used later in a possible oral trial.
Fernández filed an appeal against the order to hear Brown's testimony, arguing that Brown could be a potential defendant since he was with his clients at the time of the arrest, and that his testimony could cause irreparable harm. Despite this, Judge Rosarito Montanía upheld the decision to proceed. Before the session began, the lawyer challenged the ruling due to the absence of the defendants, prompting the judge to grant a recess so they could participate remotely, replicating the conditions of an oral trial.
The prosecutor had requested Brown's testimony based on preliminary investigations indicating that he was not involved in the crime but could provide relevant information for the case. According to the prosecutor, the TikToker cooperated extensively with the investigation, providing details about his hiring, itinerary, communications, and other circumstances related to the flight under investigation—information that preliminarily aligns with other evidence in the prosecution's file.
After the testimony, Brown will face no legal restrictions preventing him from leaving the country and returning to his country of residence. The prosecutor had ordered the lifting of the detention measure against him, finding insufficient grounds to impose personal precautionary measures.
