Paraguay’s Ministry of Justice is pressing ahead with refurbishment works at the National Pretrial Detention Center (formerly Tacumbú) so that the facility will house only remand prisoners, in compliance with the policy of separating remand prisoners from convicts. The interventions include refurbishing cells and wings, with inmates distributed across modules according to conduct profiles and risk levels.
