Trinidense beats 2 de Mayo 4-2, extends unbeaten run in Women's Annual Tournament

Sportivo Trinidense defeated 2 de Mayo 4-2 in Luque in the 8th round of the 2026 Women's Annual Tournament, extending their winning streak to three matches. The game featured comebacks, a red card, and decisive goals in the second half.

Sportivo Trinidense continues its strong run in the 2026 Women's Annual Tournament. On Saturday afternoon, the Trikis beat 2 de Mayo 4-2 at the CARDIF 1 field in Luque in the eighth round of the competition. Helena Cantero officiated the match.

The first half was eventful. Trinidense opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Jannah Velázquez and doubled the lead in the 23rd minute with Ivanna Rolón. The northern side fought back: Maidi Cristaldo pulled one back in the 28th minute, and Lorena Valdez equalized in the 47th minute, deep into stoppage time.

In the second half, the team coached by Jessika Mendoza regained the lead in the 65th minute with a goal from Alejandra Miranda. In the 80th minute, the team was reduced to ten players after Belén Benítez was sent off, but despite the numerical disadvantage, Celeste Velázquez scored the fourth goal in the 90th minute to seal the result.

With this result, Trinidense has 12 points, with two postponed matches (from rounds 1 and 3) still to be rescheduled. 2 de Mayo, under coach Hugo Vidal González, suffered its fifth defeat in the tournament and remains on six points, also with one pending match from the first round.

In the next round (round 9), Trinidense faces Nacional/Humaitá, while 2 de Mayo takes on Rubio Ñu. Dates, times, and venues are yet to be confirmed.
