72-Year-Old Brazilian Sentenced to 15 Years for Attempted Murder in Ñemby

Brazilian citizen Antonio Ademir Andrioli, 72, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted murder after shooting Carlos Manuel Martínez at a car dealership in Ñemby in June 2020. The sentence was handed down unanimously by the Trial Court, which considered evidence presented by prosecutor Lourdes Bobadilla.

The Trial Court of Ñemby sentenced Brazilian citizen Antonio Ademir Andrioli, 72, to 15 years in prison for attempted murder. The unanimous decision was made by judges Isabel Meza (presiding), Nancy Adorno, and Carmen Melgarejo, after the Public Prosecutor's Office, represented by prosecutor Lourdes Bobadilla of Criminal Unit No. 3, demonstrated the defendant's guilt with compelling evidence.

The attack occurred on June 18, 2020, around 11:20 a.m., at the Luján car dealership on Acceso Sur Avenue in the San Carlos neighborhood of Ñemby. According to court records, Andrioli asked to speak privately with the victim, Carlos Manuel Martínez. Minutes later, a heated argument broke out, and the defendant drew a firearm, struck Martínez in the head with the butt, and fired several shots at close range. The victim tried to flee inside the establishment but was pursued and hit in the elbow, buttocks, and abdomen, suffering serious injuries.

The judges considered the defendant's criminal liability fully proven and rejected the defense's arguments. Andrioli will serve his sentence in a prison unit to be determined by the criminal enforcement authorities.
