Aguavista Airport Executive is inaugurated in San Juan del Paraná with an investment of 17 million dollars

The Aguavista Airport Executive (AVA) was inaugurated on June 5, 2026, in San Juan del Paraná, in the department of Itapúa, Paraguay, becoming the first private aerodrome integrated into a residential complex in the region, with an investment of 17 million dollars in aeronautical infrastructure.

The Aguavista Airport Executive (AVA) was officially inaugurated on Friday, June 5, 2026, becoming the first private aerodrome integrated into a residential complex in Paraguay and across the entire Itapúa region. The commissioning ceremony was attended by officials from the Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (DINAC) and representatives of the AguaVista Club de Campo Residencial condominium.

Located just 15 kilometers from downtown Encarnación, on the banks of the Paraná River in the district of San Juan del Paraná, the new aerodrome features a 1,300-meter paved runway capable of handling more than 90% of the executive aircraft on the market, including jets such as the Cessna Citation Sovereign. The facility also includes public and private hangars, a control tower, a 400 m² helipad, a passenger terminal with coworking space and a rooftop restaurant, as well as ample parking with direct access to the condominium grounds.

The project required an investment of approximately 17 million dollars in aeronautical infrastructure alone. It was driven by businessman Andrés Trociuk, the majority shareholder, and developed by the company A+E Sociedad Anónima, led by Elio Saurini, president of the AguaVista consortium. The initiative took nearly a decade to come to fruition from the time the land was acquired.

The aerodrome is operated by SkySur and holds all the necessary certifications from DINAC. Its operations are coordinated with Posadas Airport in Argentina, enabling seamless binational connectivity. Although it is a private facility, the aerodrome will be open to non-resident users of the condominium upon payment of the applicable fees.

During the inauguration ceremony, the complex's authorities highlighted that the development represents a historic milestone for the south of the country, improving air connectivity for businesspeople and executives and positioning San Juan del Paraná as a hub for tourism and real estate development.

The AguaVista Complex, founded in 2007 by a group of entrepreneurs from Itapúa and Asunción, already has more than 1,100 lots, a professional 18-hole golf course, a nautical club, private beaches, and various sports facilities. With the addition of the aerodrome, the development further raises the standard of the exclusive residential country club.

With the inauguration, Paraguay now has a new executive aviation option, with the promise of reducing travel times, supporting major regional events, and attracting investment to the department of Itapúa. The opening of a private residential aerodrome of this scale is unusual in Paraguay, where most aviation infrastructure is publicly operated, and it may signal growing interest in private investment in regional connectivity.
