Highway Patrol Reinforces Operation on Las Residentas Corridor to Minimize Construction Impacts

The National Highway Patrol Directorate has intensified its operational presence on the Las Residentas Corridor in Asunción to speed up traffic during construction that blocks one lane until May 26. Senior Inspector Mario Ledesma announced intensive coverage during peak hours and the opening of the shoulder to facilitate flow.

The National Highway Patrol Directorate, under the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), has reinforced controls and operational presence on the Las Residentas Corridor with the aim of speeding up traffic, especially during peak vehicle circulation hours.

Senior Inspector Mario Ledesma, head of the Las Residentas detachment, reported that starting Wednesday, the team will have more agents to minimize the impact generated by road works that will extend until May 26 at one of the intervention points.

According to Ledesma, the works affect a stretch of approximately 300 meters, where one lane remains blocked, forcing traffic to detour and reducing circulation to a single lane in both directions, both toward Asunción and Luque.

The inspector added that the shoulder has been opened to facilitate vehicle movement and that the goal is to position agents at strategic points to guide drivers and keep traffic as fluid as possible. He also announced intensive coverage during peak hours, from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Highway Patrol reported that it will continue coordinating actions to speed up traffic as the works progress, which, once completed, will directly benefit thousands of people who travel daily through this road corridor.
