Paraguay's Chamber of Deputies approved, in a plenary session, a draft declaration recognizing the South American Rally Championship – CODASUR 2026, as well as the fourth stage of the National Rally Championship, as events of national and tourist interest. The competitions will be held in the Guairá department.

The initiative unified proposals from deputies Edgar Chávez and Alejandro Aguilera, both representatives of the department, and was approved during floor consideration. The lawmakers highlighted the sporting, tourist, and economic relevance of the event, which will bring together national and international competitors, specialized technical teams, and motorsport media.

According to the organizers, the race will feature thirteen timed special stages and a total route of 152.48 kilometers. The city of Villarrica del Espíritu Santo will be the epicenter of the activity, with expectations of significant tourist and commercial movement.

The approved declaration also urges the Executive Branch, decentralized institutions, and departmental and municipal authorities to provide logistical, health, and security support to ensure the normal development of the rally, in response to a request made by the Government of Guairá.

The legislators agreed that the institutional backing aims to strengthen the growth of motorsport in the region and contribute to boosting the local economy, projecting Guairá as one of the main settings for South American motorsport.
