The Departmental Government of Itapúa promoted a new free medical care session on Yacyretá Island, in the district of San Cosme y San Damián, through the Móvil Salud program. The event took place on Tuesday, May 19, and brought essential services to one of the department's most remote communities.
From the early morning hours, dozens of families attended the health operation to receive general medicine, pediatric, and dental consultations. The initiative seeks to guarantee dignified, free, and timely care to populations facing difficulties accessing health services.
The official report shows 67 general medicine consultations were carried out, 27 for male patients and 40 for female patients. In pediatrics, 41 children were seen, while dentistry recorded 18 consultations, split between 8 men and 10 women. In total, the operation tallied 85 medical visits, highlighting the high demand and relevance of this type of action in island and rural sectors.
The Móvil Salud program is a fundamental tool for strengthening institutional presence in hard-to-reach communities, offering concrete responses to the population's needs and promoting equitable access to health. Residents of Yacyretá Island valued the session, emphasizing the importance of having nearby and free care without the need to travel long distances.
