The second edition of the "Ahorrá PY" campaign, which offers discounts on basic basket products, begins this Saturday, August 1, and runs until the 16th of the same month. The initiative is promoted by the Paraguayan Chamber of Wholesale and Retail Merchants (COMAMPAR) and has the support of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC).
More than 100 brands and 400 daily consumption products, such as rice, sugar, oil, pasta, yerba mate, dairy products, beverages, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items, will have reduced prices at participating establishments. The campaign will take place at various points of sale across the country associated with COMAMPAR.
The chamber's vice president, Miguel Tolces, stated that the goal is to have a direct impact on the economy of Paraguayan families, while also boosting commercial activity and strengthening the formal sector. "Ahorrá PY seeks to support households at a time when managing the budget is increasingly important, but also to generate economic movement and strengthen our businesses," he declared.
The Vice Minister of Commerce, Alberto Sborovsky, highlighted that one of the MIC's main focuses is to support this type of action to alleviate family expenses. He mentioned that about 45 suppliers are involved in the initiative.
To facilitate the identification of offers, participating businesses will display distinctive campaign materials. Among the adhering establishments are Comercial San Cayetano, Supermercado Guaraní, La Economía Comercial, and Supermercado Colón Mayorista, among others.
Tolces emphasized that the effort reflects the sector's capacity to work together. "Behind every promotional price there is a shared effort; the industries make important contributions and the businesses reduce their margins so that the benefit effectively reaches the consumer," he explained.
