Hohenau Mayor Enrique Hahn announced that the second section of the Immigrants' Route is among the priority projects for Itapúa department. The initiative, which has advanced negotiations with the national government and the World Bank, will receive non-reimbursable funds from the international organization for its execution.

The project involves paving approximately 35 kilometers, connecting Pindoyú and San Pedro through the road that links with Cooperativa Colonia Unidas. This work will integrate with the first section of the Immigrants' Route, significantly improving connectivity in one of the region's main production zones.

According to the municipal leader, the new infrastructure will reduce the route for large trucks transporting grains and other agro-industrial products to the country's ports by 40 to 50 kilometers, generating significant time savings and logistical cost reductions.

The paving will also benefit agricultural and dairy producers, who currently face difficulties transporting their production during rainy seasons due to poor road conditions. Communities such as San Pedro del Paraná and General Artigas will be integrated, strengthening the so-called production corridor.

Mayor Hahn stated that the realization of the second section has the support of President Santiago Peña and expressed confidence in the project's commencement in the short term, consolidating a new strategic axis for Itapúa's economic development.
