Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has authorized eight Paraguayan slaughterhouses to export beef to the country after completing its assessment of Paraguay’s official veterinary inspection system. The authorization was confirmed by the National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa), the agency responsible for animal health and the quality of livestock products.

The authorized facilities are Frigomerc S.A. No. 2, San Antonio Slaughterhouse No. 3, Frigorífico Guaraní S.A.C.I. No. 7, Frigorífico Frigochaco No. 10, Frigorífico Los Lazos No. 12, Frigorífico Victoria No. 14, Frigorífico Belén No. 23 and Frigorífico Concepción S.A. No. 38.

The assessment examined the control procedures applied by Paraguay’s official veterinary service. With the process complete, the facilities are authorized to supply boneless beef to the Turkish market, although authorization of the plants does not in itself mean that a sale will take place.

The Turkish public institution Et ve Süt Kurumu (ESK), which is linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said it was interested in immediately importing an initial volume of up to 300 metric tons of boneless beef from Paraguay. The information released does not detail a timetable, supplier or commercial terms for this potential shipment.

The access expands the number of Paraguayan slaughterhouses authorized to operate in a market that requires recognition of the exporting country’s sanitary controls. In practice, the authorization allows the companies to begin negotiations and participate in potential Turkish purchases, which remain subject to contracts, customs requirements and market conditions.

For Paraguay, the measure diversifies the destinations available to the beef industry and creates an additional outlet for boneless beef. The effective impact will depend on whether ESK’s initial interest turns into regular commercial operations and on the volumes that are ultimately shipped.
