Practical experience and English proficiency are the main barriers that young Paraguayans face to get employment, according to the 2026 Regional Survey, conducted by Zabe Corporate and the Paraguayan Chamber of Services and BPO Outsourcing (Capaser).
The study reveals that 53.3% of respondents in Paraguay point to lack of experience as a significant obstacle, while 53% mention English as a difficulty. Next are continuous training (51.1%), contacts or networking (46.7%), digital and artificial intelligence skills (40%), and communication (31.1%).
The survey's open responses show a concrete concern among young people about access to their first job. They complain about opportunities for those who do not yet have experience but have the capacity and willingness to learn. They also highlight the need for fair salaries, professional growth, flexibility, and support in the early stages of their careers.
The survey also identified a shift in training preferences. In Paraguay, 61.1% of young people prefer online courses and 31.5% opt for a hybrid format, totaling 92.6% who choose formats with digital learning. Additionally, 64.4% prefer to train through real cases and practical exercises.
In response to these needs, Capaser plans to strengthen continuous training, facilitate access to online and hybrid training, and generate opportunities to gain practical experience. The plan includes creating a specialized academy and a job placement program for graduates, focused on first employment.
