The Paraguayan soybean complex closed the first seven months of 2026 with a significant increase in exports, generating $3.513 billion in foreign exchange, a 41% growth compared to the same period last year. The data comes from the foreign trade report of the Paraguayan Chamber of Exporters and Marketers of Cereals and Oilseeds (Capeco), which highlighted the performance of the 2025/2026 harvest.
Between January and July, Paraguay exported 8.64 million metric tons of soybeans, oil, and pellets, a volume 2.17 million metric tons higher than the previous year. Soybeans led the increase, with 6.83 million metric tons shipped, an addition of 1.97 million metric tons compared to the last harvest. In revenue, the product yielded $2.648 billion, $870 million more than in 2025.
Derivatives also showed positive results. Soybean oil exports totaled 390,700 metric tons, compared to 367,300 metric tons in the same period the previous year, generating $432.3 million. Soybean pellets reached 1.42 million metric tons, with revenues of $432.1 million. Sonia Tomassone, Foreign Trade Advisor at Capeco, described the variation as "positive" and highlighted the favorable impact on the national economy.
Argentina accounted for 89% of Paraguayan soybean shipments, followed by Brazil with 8%. The remaining 3% went to markets such as Saudi Arabia, the United States, Vietnam, Uruguay, Chile, and South Korea. Argentina's predominance reflects its position as the main regional processing hub for the oilseed, consolidating its role as a central link in Paraguay's production chain.
