Groups file complaint alleging cyanide contamination by mining company in Paso Yobái

Groups have filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office against mining company Latin American Minerals Paraguay for alleged environmental crimes involving cyanide in Paso Yobái, where an academic study detected levels of the substance up to 40 times above the permitted limit. Official inspection operations had already been carried out in the area in July to investigate contamination reports.
