56 Female Inmates Transferred from Misiones Prison to Emboscada Penitentiary Complex

In a nighttime operation, 56 female inmates were transferred from the Regional Penitentiary of Misiones to the Penitentiary Complex for Female Inmates (Comple) in Emboscada without incident.

In the early hours of Sunday, 56 female inmates were transferred from the Regional Penitentiary of Misiones in San Juan Bautista to the Penitentiary Complex for Female Inmates (Comple) in Emboscada. The transfer began at 3 a.m. and ended at 4 a.m., without incident.

Two other detainees were taken to the Regional Penitentiary of Coronel Oviedo, and a third to the National Penitentiary of Tacumbú in Asunción, all in prison vehicles. The 56 women traveled in two buses escorted by military personnel from the Armed Forces.

The operation, named Umbral, was coordinated by the director of the Police for Prevention and Security of Misiones, Commissioner Mirtha Beatriz Ramos, and involved agents of the National Police, two platoons of the Specialized Group, and anti-riot personnel.
