Heavily armed group attacks three banks and currency exchange house in Santa Rita

A group of about 20 heavily armed men simultaneously attacked four financial institutions in Santa Rita, in the Alto Paraná department, using explosives to empty the vaults of two banks, overpowering four police officers, and setting vehicles on fire during their escape. Authorities are investigating the possible involvement of a criminal network made up of Paraguayans and Brazilians, without ruling out the participation of the PCC.

Paraguay opens 1,000 spots at Police College for 2027 following protests

Senate establishes commission to investigate fake university degrees in Paraguay

He has called for a comprehensive technical, administrative, and contractual audit to determine accountability.

Appeals Court rejects challenge in case against Quyquyhó mayor and 13 defendants

The Court of Appeal on Monday, the 15th, rejected the challenge filed by the accused Damián de Jesús Galarza Dárdano in the case against the mayor of Quyquyhó, Patricia Corvalán, and 13 others charged with embezzlement, money laundering, and criminal association.
